Whether you are planning a Toga party of the “Animal House” variety or of the classical “Julius Caesar” variety, the following ideas will work well. This theme is a terrific choice for any occasion – birthday bash, anniversary, Bar Mitzvah, New Year’s Eve or even a reunion. This is also a great theme for kids and teens (minus any alcoholic beverages). The tone of the party is entirely up to you!
For starters, ask all of your guests to come dressed up. They can dress in anything from a simple toga, to something more elaborate . . .a Roman slave, or a figure of Greek mythology (Zeus, Apollo, Athena, Hercules, Helen of Troy, etc.).
Invitations:
We have an imprinted invitation that would complement this theme perfectly. Check out an Imperial Invitation for a toga party on the more formal side.
If you want to send the message that this toga party is for the crazy and light-hearted, then attach a note to Toga party sunglasses inviting your fellow partiers to a greek bash they won’t soon forget!

This is a great idea. Toga party can be done in any time of the year and toga costumes can be worn in any costume event.

Peter and Cheryl,
Thanks so much for your post. The Peek-A-Boo Invite at StumpsProm.com (item INVPABM) sounds like a great idea for a baby shower, but it is really perfect for any occasion because you choose the design. You can view it here – http://www.stumpsprom.com/catalog.cfm?caid=664514 . I’m sure you have reviewed our Party Tipz but here’s a link just in case – http://www.shindigz.com/partytipz.cfm?cat=3807 . I heard about a great photo op created at a Toga Party my friend went to. They had a chaise draped in silk with an abundance of grapes in a challis near the table. The host wore a plain toga with no frills and fanned the guest with a large palm frond. What a great way to get a photo of each guest and capture memories of the evening!

We were looking for a Toga Party style invitation as indicated in this site but were somewhat dissapointed. Do you have one we can get some ideas from for our party.
